The Best in Classic Rock Blues
Do you love the blues? You will find that there are many out there
that love the blues but do not live in areas that they can really
experience this genre of music. And what this does is only allow those
people to scratch the surface of what real good classic rock blues is
all about. Therefore, you will find that in this article you will hear
new names and get some new ideas on what it means to be the best in
blues rock. Does it mean you are one of the late greats if you only
came from the US? Does it mean you are worth listening to if you do not
have a ¨The Best Of¨ album? The following list will be of names that are
not very well known in the US but that have made it big elsewhere
because of their truly soulful beginnings, and whether you look at these
as Classic rock bands or simply artists that sing the blues you will
never regret the experience that these artists will bring you. Blonde
on Blonde "Rebirth" 1970
The most awesome lead singer of his time Dave Thomas brought this
band out with his amazing vocals. To compare him in order to get an idea
in your mind just imagine a Welsh operatic Roy Orbison and you will be
close.
Cuby & the Blizzards "Tripping Thru A Midnight Blues" 1968
If
you think that the Dutch can´t sing the blues then you do not know a
thing about their culture or the blues industry. This great band from
the Netherlands has great English on vocals called Harry Muskee, and the
rest of the band will wind it all up so that the lead can belt out the
blues.
Betterdays "No Concessions" 1994
This all white band took the time to show the world that white people
really can sing classic rock blues. And since the 1960´s they have been
proving it all over Europe.
Blues Band "The Official Bootleg Album" 1979
This is one that is considered amongst the best there is as it
features Manfred Mann as lead vocalist and Paul Jones as backup. Add to
this mix Tom McGuinness on the guitar (much needed in order to be
classed as rock and blues), and you have a mix that is unbeatable and
unforgettable. .

Complex Way We Feel Wooden Hill 1971
The first of our Zombies sounding groups, which is meant as a great
compliment. This group had incredible originals and a great keyboard
player as well as wonderful harmonies. This group recorded a previous
album with even better material but unfortunately the recording quality
was very poor due to a screw up by the place they pressed the original
record up which is why I am recommending this album instead because of
its much better audio quality. Forever Ember "Love Cycle" 1969
This is the perfect example of talent gone wrong. These guys
reportably never sang many of their songs live, and it was not
discovered how well they played until they recorded on some old
equipment. This is the basic blues at its simplest form.
Jerusulem "Jerusalem" 1972
This band has been likened to the sounds of Deep Purple if you were
to take away the keyboards that is. Killing Floor "Killing Floor"
1969
Another comparison band here. For this classic rock blues try and
imagine the sounds of Led Zeppelin trying to play the blues after a long
night out on state. These artists put a whole new swing on blues.
